MUTUBA is an interdisciplinary performance that brings together dance, film, and visual art to explore the rich cultural and spiritual significance of Ugandan bark cloth made from the Mutuba tree.
In this immersive experience, Antonio embodies the life cycle of the Mutuba tree and its sacred bark, guiding audiences through a journey of being stripped, reshaped, and ultimately reborn. The performance weaves together live movement, film, images and objects to explore the cultural and spiritual significance of the Mutuba tree, whose bark is carefully harvested and transformed into the revered Lubugo cloth.
